While the Supreme Court has banned the sale of firecrackers in Delhi and NCR areas till 1 November, citing public health concerns, celebs in Mumbai are appealing for the same.

With Diwali coming up next week, Shraddha Kapoor posted a video on Twitter making an appeal to her fans and followers to help keep the air clean and be sensitive to animals.

“Diwali is coming-the Festival of Lights..not of noise & air pollution. Help keep the air clean & be sensitive to the animals on the streets.”

This is what Shraddha had to say in her video in which the actor is seen with her pet dog Shylo:

“Hi everyone, since its that time of the year when Diwali is just around the corner, I just wanted to say that please don’t buy firecrackers and don’t burn crackers because not only does it cause a lot of pollution but it also troubles all the animals on the streets. Instead, spend Diwai with your family, with your loved ones, eat amazing food, eat sweets and don’t burst crackers. Wish you a Happy Diwali.”

Let’s hope more celebs pitch in their voice for an air and noise pollution free Diwali.
