In March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had put out a series of posts on Twitter, asking Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt to appeal to their fans to cast their vote in the Lok Sabha elections.

In one such tweet, Modi wrote, “Urging @SrBachchan, @iamsrk and @karanjohar to creatively ensure high voter awareness and participation in the coming elections. Because...its all about loving your democracy (and strengthening it). :)”

Finally, Shah Rukh has responded by creating a music video where he has even tried his hand at rapping to get the message across.

The actor apologised for being late in releasing the video, saying that it took him time to come up with something creative.

Shah Rukh’s song video is titled Karo Matdan and features the star dancing and singing to assert that “voting is our duty.”

The music has been composed by Tanishk Bagchi and the lyrics have been written by Abby Viral. Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment has produced the video.
