After the huge success of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion two years ago, Prabhas’ next release, Saaho, will hit the theatres on 30 August. The film, also starring Shraddha Kapoor, is a much anticipated one. While the Telugu version of the film is expected to rake in big bucks at the box office, owing to Prabhas fan following in the South, the collections from Hindi version in the North circuits will be a key to the film’s success.

Movie business analyst, Atul Mohan, says that “the Telugu advance booking is phenomenal, but in Hindi it surprisingly isn’t.”

“We are looking at Rs 18- 20 crore on opening day.”

Made at a budget of around Rs 200 crore, Saaho needs to make money outside of the Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circuits to become a massive hit. But as of now the buzz around the Hindi version and advance bookings of the film in North and Mumbai circuits is slightly underwhelming, considering the high budget and the wide promotions.

Also, two Hindi films are still running in theatres. Mission Mangal is doing really great at the box office and Batla House too is performing decently. So at this point it is unclear if Saaho will manage to get a large number of screens.

“But still hoping for the best and in that scenario we should look at Rs 18- 20 crore on opening day,” says Atul. “If good reports start coming in then evening shows will pick up and in that case we can expect opening day in the range of Rs 22-24 crore,” he adds.

Directed by Sujeeth Reddy, Saaho has been widely promoted in the Hindi circuit and four Hindi songs have also been released. Even though Prabhas’ fan following is big in Telugu states, the actor is known all over the country because of the pan India success of Baahubali films.
