Mulk starring Rishi Kapoor and Tapsee Pannu is set to release on 3 August. Mulk begins with a terror blast that leads to Rishi Kapoor’s son (played by Prateik Babbar) becoming a prime suspect. It goes on to show how the family struggles to fight perceptions about their faith.
In an interview to The Huffington Post, he opened up about cow vigilantism, his upcoming film and how he made a mistake with Ranbir Kapoor while also slamming Bombay Velvet, Jagga Jasoos and Saawariya.
On his role in the film Kapoor said, “Normally we don't care for these kinds of films where the main antagonist, rather the protagonist, is an old man of 65 years of age...”
Though Kapoor was emphatic about being apolitical, he made a comment on mob-violence in India.
He went on to say that despite governments changing the Hindu-Muslim divide and the Kashmir issue still looms large.
Rishi Kapoor said that unlike Bombay Velvet, Jagga Jasoos and Saawariya, Sanju was a good film.
The Kapoor and Sons actor also spoke about his ‘uneasy’ relationship with his son.
