Rishi Kapoor spent around a year in New York undergoing treatment for cancer. He returned to Mumbai on 10 September. Now, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the veteran actor is gearing up to start shooting for debutant director Hitesh Bhatia’s untitled next, which goes to floors on 5 December.
Rishi Kapoor had started shooting for the film in Delhi last year. However, the diagnosis stalled the process and he had to fly to the US for the treatment. “Hitesh’s film is currently under pre-production. It will go on floors in Mumbai on Thursday and will be followed by a month-long schedule in Delhi in January,” a source told the publication.
Rishi Kapoor also confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror. He will be reuniting with Juhi Chawla for this film. In the 1990s, they had shared screen space in a lot of films such as Bol Radha Bol, Saajan Ka Ghar etc.
Rishi had earlier told Mirror that he was yearning to get back to work. “As soon as I get back, I will take 15 days off to get over my jet lag,” he had said.
