According to a report in a leading news daily, Ranbir Kapoor is in talks to star in Kabir Singh director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next Hindi language film. Kabir Singh producers Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani will be backing Sandeep’s new project as well, which is said to be a crime drama.
Sources told the newspaper that Bhushan recently met with Sandeep regarding the casting of the film and Ranbir is planning to meet him soon.
If Ranbir agrees to the film, it could be a while before we see it in theatres since the actor’s schedule is jam-packed for now. He is still wrapping up Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra and Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera both of which are set to release next year. Then he has Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety filmmaker Luv Ranjan’s next which he agreed to do a while back.
Kabir Singh, which starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, crossed Rs 200 crores and became one of this 2019’s biggest hits. The dark romance was a remake of Sandeep’s own Telugu language flick Arjun Reddy. Sandeep had stated earlier that he wants to continue to make “pan-India” films.
