Oscar Nominee ‘Newton’ Witnesses Healthy Jump at BO on Day 2

Rajkummar Rao starrer, ‘Newton’ has raked in Rs 3.48 crore at the box-office.

Rajkummar Rao’s Newton opened to rave reviews on Friday (22 September). The film managed to get Rs 96 lakhs on its opening day. But things have only improved for the Oscar-nominated film. According to trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, Newton witnessed 162.5% growth on Saturday to collect Rs 2.52 cr!

It looks positive word of mouth and its Oscar announcement is only helping the film which has so far, minted Rs 3.48 crore at the box-office.

Newton, which has reportedly been made on a budget of Rs 5-6 crore, is expected to continue its healthy run on Sunday (today) as well.

Newton revolving around Newton (Rajkummar Rao), an honest officer sent to oversee elections in the Maoist terror-ridden Dandakaranya, also got leaked online which might affect its overall collections.
