Pankaj Tripathi Joins Janhvi Kapoor in Gunjan Saxena Biopic

The film also features Angad Bedi.

Pankaj Tripathi has been cast alongside Janhvi Kapoor in a biopic on IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena.

Pankaj Tripathi is the latest to join the cast of Kargil Girl, an upcoming biopic on Gunjan Saxena, one of the first woman pilots to fly in combat and who helped evacuate soldiers during the Kargil War. She was feted with the Shauraya Chakra for her gallantry.

While Janhvi Kapoor will play Gunjan in the film, Tripathi will essay the role of her father Anup Saxena. Confirming the news to Mumbai Mirror he said, “It’s an important story that needs to be told. When Sharan narrated the script to me, I immediately agreed to be a part of it. My role is integral to the story and I found a human connect, which is an important criterion for me to sign a film.”

Actor Angad Bedi has also been signed on for the film as Gunjan’s brother Anshuman. The film, which is currently on floors, is being directed by debutant Sharan Sharma and produced by Karan Johar.
