The latest song from Notebook, a movie produced by Salman Khan and starring newcomers Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl, was released on Wednesday, 13 March. Labelled ‘Bumro’, the song echoes the tune of the Hrithik Roshan-Preity Zinta starrer Mission Kashmir, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Shared on social media, the chorus of the song as well as its first line is the exact same as the ‘Bumbro’ song from Mission Kashmir.
However, the makers of the song claim that it isn’t a recreation. Save the chorus, the lyrics of the song are completely different from the original ‘Bumbro’, and adding to this, composer Vishal Mishra said that this song had been greatly ‘inspired’ by Kashmiri folk music, Hindustan Times reported.
In the video of Notebook’s ‘Bumro’, Zaheer is seen dancing with the children of the school he is teaching at, and while Pranutan did not feature in the video, the pages of the ‘notebook’ she has written in features in the hero’s hands.
The movie, which has been produced by Salman Khan Films and directed by Nitin Kakkar, is set to release in theatres on 29 March.
