After Hindi Medium, producer Dinesh Vijan is preparing for another quirky comedy, Made in China, starring Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy, reports Mumbai Mirror.

Rao plays a struggling Gujarati businessman and Mouni a girl from Mumbai, who moves to Ahmedabad after marrying him. According to a source, the film captures the on-screen couple’s fascinating journey as Mouni’s character pushes Rao to travel to China.

“She’s a simple housewife, living in a lower middle-class locality, feisty and crazy about Raj, who wants to give her the best, crosses the Great Wall hoping to become a successful entrepreneur. ”
An anonymous source told Mumbai Mirror.

Written and directed by Gujarati director Mikhil Musale, the film marks Rao’s second collaboration with Dinesh after Stree.

“We wanted someone who’d connect with the heartland and Mouni, a typical Indian beauty, has a huge fan following. She has a strong personality but gentle eyes and is a good dancer which is essential for the role as her character has a passion for classical Indian dance having learnt it.”
Dinesh Vijan, producer

Made in China will release in September in Mumbai, travelling to Gujarat and subsequently China.
