After the controversial political drama Indu Sarkar, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is once again basing his next movie on true incidents. The project is titled Inspector Ghalib will be set in and around the sand mining mafia in Uttar Pradesh.
Trade analyst Madhur Bhadarkar tweeted, “ IT'S OFFICIAL... Madhur Bhandarkar’s next film is titled #InspectorGhalib... Based on sand mafia... Will star a top name. Casting under finalization... Starts mid-2019.”
"The film will be set against the backdrop of sand mafia in Uttar Pradesh. Madhur has been researching on the subject for sometime. Although the story is based on a real-life incident, he will give it a larger-than-life treatment,” a source told Mumbai Mirror.
Inspector Ghalib is currently in the pre-production stage and the cast hasn’t yet been finalised. However Taran has shared that A-lister will be cast in the lead and the film will go on the floors in mid-2019.
