Lipstick Under My Burkha fought a long and hard battle with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to get their film in theatres.
The “lady-oriented” film has managed to cross the Rs 10 crore mark at the box-office in its first week.
The Konkona Sen Sharma and Ratna Pathak Shah film has been competing with Tiger Shroff’s Munna Michael and will face competition from three films releasing this week; Indu Sarkar, Mubarakan and Raag Desh.
Munna Michael has managed to make Rs 31 crore in its first week.
Lipstick Under My Burkha was released in 400 screens in India, while Munna Michael had 3,000 screens.
We will have to see how the film fares in its second week.
The Alankrita Shrivastava directorial also stars Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur.
