Kangana Ranaut-starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi will be releasing in Japan on 3 January, 2020.
About the film heading to Japan, Vibha Chopra, head of Global Syndication and International Film Distribution, Zee Entertainment, said: “This epic tale of Rani Laxmibai showcases her valour, strengths and sacrifices. Manikarnika will become Zee Studio International’s second outing in the territory after Kesari this year.”
The film also stars Atul Kulkarni, Suresh Oberoi, Danny Denzongpa and Ankita Lokhande.

Vijay Raaz has joined the cast of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming movie Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Alia Bhatt. The actor was recently spotted outside Bhansali’s office. When asked about his role at a recent event in Mumbai, Raaz said, “There is a film called 'Gangubai'. I play a small part in it.”
Alia will be playing the titular role in the film. In his book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, investigative journalist and writer Hussain Zaidi describes Gangubai Kathiawadi as one of the top madams of Mumbai’s red-light district Kamathipura. She had been sold into prostitution by her boyfriend and turned one of its biggest supporters. However, she harboured a soft corner for young women forced into the trade.

R&B and pop artist Khalid will be performing in India for the first time in April next year. The singer on Tuesday announced nine Asia dates as part of his Khalid Free Spirit World Tour. He will perform in Mumbai on April 12, 2020 and in Bengaluru two days later. Besides India, Khalid Free Spirit World Tour will also travel to Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo and Seoul.

Taapsee Pannu has confirmed she will play Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj in an upcoming biopic titled Shabaash Mithu. The actor made the announcement on social media on the cricketer’s birthday. The film will be helmed by Raees director Rahul Dholakia and written by Priya Aven, and is set to go on floors in 2020.

Marvel has shared the first teaser of Scarlett Johansson-starrer Black Widow. The film puts the spotlight on the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Russian assassin Natasha Romanoff, and is set during the period in between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.
Directed by Cate Shorthand, Black Widow also stars Rachel Weisz and David Harbour. It releases in India on 30 April 2020.
