Tara Sutaria Exits Shahid’s ‘Arjun Reddy’ Remake

Tara Sutaria, who is making her Bollywood debut with Dharma Productions’ Student of the Year 2, had signed on for the Hindi remake of the acclaimed Telugu hit Arjun Reddy apposite Shahid Kapoor as her second film. Anne Hathaway to Get Human Rights Award

Actress Anne Hathaway will be honoured with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) National Equality Award here on September 15.

According to IANS, the "Bride Wars" actress will receive the award for her humanitarian work that she has done for the society, especially with with women and the LGBTQ community, reports variety.com.

Acknowleging Hathaway's contribution for the society, HRC President Chad Griffin said: "Through her incredible talent and bold activism, Anne Hathaway uses her global platform to stand up for the LGBTQ community.

Academy Postpones Plans for New Popular Film Oscar Category

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has decided not to go ahead with its proposed new 'popular film' Oscar category at next year's awards ceremony.

The proposal, announced just a month ago, was met with a backlash from the movie industry and film reviewers, who said it would create a two-tier system of 'popular' and 'unpopular' films, reports PTI.

"There has been a wide range of reactions to the introduction of a new award, and we recognize the need for further discussion with our members. We have made changes to the Oscars over the years, including this year, and we will continue to evolve while also respecting the incredible legacy of the last 90 years," Academy CEO Dawn Hudson said in a statement.

SAG-AFTRA Lets Morgan Freeman Keep Achievement Award

Legendary actor Morgan Freeman, who was accused of sexual harassment by eight women, will get to keep his lifetime achievement award from the screen actors union, SAG-AFTRA.

According to variety.com, SAG-AFTRA has declared that it will not rescind Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman's SAG Life Achievement Award after it completed an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour toward several women, reports IANS.

A spokesperson for SAG-AFTRA said: "Based on the results of an independent investigation and the information we have at this time, we are taking no action regarding the SAG Life Achievement award presented to Morgan Freeman. As always, the details of the investigation are confidential."

Dulquer Sends out B'Day Wish to 'Coolest Dude' Mammootty

Actor Dulquer Salmaan on Friday wished a happy birthday to the "coolest dude" -- Malayalam megastar Mammootty, also his father.

"Wishing the happiest of birthdays to the coolest dude ever. Words are never enough to write and our hearts are never enough to fill the love we feel for you pa! Mammukka," Dulquer tweeted along with a photograph of Mammootty sporting a shirt with rolled up sleeves and blue shorts, reports IANS.

Dulquer, known for sharing online posts with cool hashtags, also wrote: "#definitionofcool #timemachine #megastar #daddycool #theking #aintnobodylikeyou #HappyBirthdayMammukka."

The much-awaited motion poster of Rajinikanth's new movie Petta, which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui alongside Thalaivar, has just been released. The film is directed by Karthik Subbaraj.

A new poster of Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film 2.0 is out. Rajinikanth is reprising his double role as good-hearted scientist Vaseekaran and bad brained robot Chitti in the Shankar film. The movie was scheduled to release early this year, but has been delayed due to massive VFX work.
