2. Bollywood Celebrates Raksha Bandhan; Deepika, Sonam Share Pics

Raksha Bandhan was celebrated with gusto by Bollywood celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Kartik Aryan on Sunday.

While megastar Amitabh Bachchan reached out to his 'extended family' to share a message urging people to celebrate love, respect, peace and harmony, a string of other celebrities took to social media to share some of their memorable moments with their siblings. Photographs and messages from the film stars were splashed across Instagram and Twitter.

Priyanka, who recently got engaged to American singer Nick Jonas, posted a photograph with her brother Siddharth, and wrote: "I've got an army of brothers, and this one (Siddharth) happens to be the leader of the pack (by default). Happy Raksha Bandhan! "It's one of my favourite festivals where the sister ties a sacred thread around the brother's wrist for protection, symbolic of the beautiful bond between siblings. I can't imagine life without having my brothers in my corner... Love you guys!"

Kartik was in Gwalior for the festival, which celebrates the brother-sister bond. He was nostalgic. "Really miss our bachpan (childhood). Celebrated Raksha Bandhan after such a long time with my sister and my family and in my city. Love you Kittu a lot. You are the apple of our eye. And we are so proud of you," the Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor wrote and posted a set of happy family pictures.

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari also shared some photographs with her brothers, and wrote: "From being my props in pictures to always having my back... Thank you broskis! Happy Raksha Bandhan. P.S. I will continue to bully you for as long as I live!"

Deepika's Rakhi message was for her younger sister Anisha, whom she lovingly calls 'Smallie'. The "Padmaavat" star shared their childhood picture, and wrote: "Like always... I promise to love you, protect you and bug you... forever! I love you Smallie."

Sonam Kapoor shared a special photograph with her army of brothers, and wrote: "To my brothers, a very very happy Rakhee... I'm so thankful to have all of you in my life... Love you all a lot! And sorry I'm not there today to tie you rakhi... Your favourite sister, Sonam."

Actor Sunny Deol flaunted rakhis on his wrist, and wrote; "Happy Raksha Bandhan. Respect them, protect them always."

3. Walking the Ramp at LFW Takes Kangana Back to Her Fashion Days

National Award winning actress Kangana Ranaut, who walked as the showstopper at the Lakme Fashion Week ramp here, says during her growing up days, she used to impersonate models and always hoped she would be accepted in showbiz. Asked if she thought she would make it big in the fashion world too, Kangana said: "When I was young I didn't have any guarantee, but I hoped that I get accepted. I remember in the night times I used to rehearse... I was a science student and I was hard working.”

"I used to wake up in the nights and wear heels and try and impersonate the catwalk I used to see on Fashion TV. I remember working very hard and hoping I make it someday."

The 31-year-old actress says every time she walks the runway, it takes her back to her days of Fashion, the Madhur Bhandarkar directorial in which plays a supermodel. "That's the only time I played a supermodel and I used to rehearse a lot because I never had a modelling background. I never modelled before. So, now when I do these walks it definitely takes me back to my Fashion days," she said.

4. Varun Dhawan Trained to be a Tailor for 3 Months for Sui Dhaaga

Actor Varun Dhawan, who plays a tailor in upcoming entertainer Sui Dhaaga - Made in India, says that he gave three months to learn tailoring to ensure he gave his best to the role.

"I knew that I had a task at hand. I knew I had to master the art to convince people that I am a real 'masterji'. Darshan (the costume designer) and Noor bhai (the tailor on the sets) helped me a lot and I gave it three months to learn this skill," Varun said in a statement. "As an actor, I like to get challenged to become someone else on-screen," added the actor, whose character is named Mauji in the movie, which also stars Anushka Sharma.

He says the experience of learning how to tailor wasn't easy at all. "It was frustrating because initially I wasn't getting it right. The needle pierced by fingers multiple times. (But) I'm so glad that I went through the drill because I have picked up a new skill in the process. "It took me 3 months... Sometimes 2 hours and sometimes 4 hours in each tailoring class to get the confidence that I could pull this off in front of camera," added the Badlapur actor. claiming that he is now "very comfortable" on the sewing machine.

5. The Iconic RK Studio Built By Raj Kapoor Is Up For Sale

In what will be seen as symbolic as the end of an era, the famous RK Studio built from scratch by the legendary Raj Kapoor is now being sold. The decision to place the 2 acre studio located in Mumbai’s Chembur suburb was taken by the Kapoor family which includes Raj Kapoor’s wife Krishna Raj Kapoor, his sons Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv Kapoor and his daughters Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain. Various builders and developers have been now approached with a proposal to sell the iconic studio.

A report in Mumbai Mirror quotes Rishi Kapoor talking about the decision to sell RK Studio and the actor says that though the family did think about renovating the studio, but eventually the decision was taken to put it up for sale. The decision though an emotional one was done due to purely economical reasons. The Kapoor family felt that they would not be able to recover the investment put into renovating the studio with state-of-the-art technology to keep it up and running. Rishi Kapoor clearly states that the RK Studio was a “white elephant, toting up losses” even before it was severely damaged because of a fire which broke out last year.

A huge fire that broke out within RK Studio in 2017 had destroyed a host of precious RK Films’ memorabilia including costumes, jewellery, props and publicity material. Several famous songs and scenes in almost every RK film was shoot in RK Studio. From Raj Kapoor’s Awara (1951) to Aa Ab Laut Chalein (1999) directed by Rishi Kapoor, the studio has figured in the production of every RK film. The studio has seen the highs and lows of Raj Kapoor’s fortune at the box-office - it was mortgaged after the debacle of Mera Naam Joker, only to be bought back after the success of Bobby, in which Rishi Kapoor made his debut has a leading man.
