It seems that there is no stopping Kangana Ranaut. Judgementall Hai Kya, starring Kangana and Rajkummar, is about to release on 26 July. Now, she is gearing up for an action film Dhaakad. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the news.
The film will be directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Sohel Maklai. Taran also said that the shooting will commence early next year in India as well as South East Asia, Middle East and Europe. An action director from #Hollywood has been roped in to choreograph the fight sequences. Dhaakad is set for a Diwali release.
Kangana’s sister Rangoli also shared her excitement on Twitter.
“After the success of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, it has been proven that audiences across the globe are loving larger than life films with a female hero. Dhaakad is not only a benchmark film for my career but will be a turning point for Indian cinema as well. Sohel and Razy are my friends, and we have been planning this project for some time. I can’t wait to start work on this film,” Kangana said in a statement.
“The film is mounted on a large scale, is one of a kind female-led action film, and is apt for a Diwali release. If it is received well, there will be no looking back for women in Indian cinema”, the actor added.
Speaking about the film and Kangana, Razy said: “I am an army kid myself, and I’ve always wanted to start off with an action film. This is a great time for a film of this genre and I'm looking to push the boundaries on this project with my visual style. I respect Kangana as an actor and we're excited to make a memorable film.”
Meanwhile, the Judgementall Hai Kya trailer has been dropped and it looks quite promising. From the very beginning, the trailer makes one thing clear - that both Kangana and Rajkummar’s characters are unusual. Their eccentricities are introduced to us in the context of a murder mystery. But the trailer itself is more about Kangana and Rajkummar’s characters than the mystery. As the trailer progresses, we watch the two main characters fall in love. Until suddenly, they’re both fighting to save their own lives and have turned against each other.
