Just weeks after the release of her directorial debut - Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, actress Kangana Ranaut has now announced that she will be directing a film based on her own life story!
A source close to developments in this prospective film has told Mumbai Mirror, the film is in its nascent stages and is being scripted by KV Vijayendra Prasad, who had written the scripts for the iconic Bahubali movies and Manikarnika.
Confirming the news to Mumbai Mirror, Kangana said although the subject of her next directorial is - herself - she claimed that it would not be a “propaganda film”
She also revealed that Vijayendra Prasad, who she had worked with for two years on Manikarnika, had started the script for another movie he wanted her to direct.
“Then, around 12 weeks ago, he urged me to let him write a film based on my life. I was nervous and wary initially, but then, given his stature and the fact that I trust him implicitly, I gave Vijayendra sir the go ahead to the project,” she told Mumbai Mirror.
She also mentioned that although the movie would display her differences with people in the industry in the past - no actual names would be mentioned in the movie - which would focus instead on the many ups and many downs she had faced in her journey to becoming a Bollywood star.
The source who had broken the news of Kangana’s biopic to the newspaper, also said that Kangana already had her technical crew in place from Manikarnika and wished to get many of them on board for this new project, which is expected to kickstart sometime between October and November.
