Kangana Ranaut, who is shooting for Manikarnika — The Queen Of Jhansi in Hyderabad, was severely injured on Wednesday evening. The actor was shooting for an intense sword-fighting sequence with co-star Nihar Pandya, when the latter's sword hit and deeply cut her forehead. She was rushed to the ICCU and got 15 stitches on her forehead.
According to a report by Mid-Day, the accident happened when Kangana Ranaut got the timing wrong in an action sequence and was hit heavily by Pandya’s sword. It made a deep cut on her forehead and the examining doctor said that it was a close shave for her because the cut had been very close to the bone.
According to producer Kamal Jain, the action scene had been rehearsed several times and Kangana had insisted on doing the scene herself instead of employing a body double.
According to a source, the injury might leave a scar and Kangana has already decided to flaunt it in the film.
The actor, who trained in sword-fighting under the guidance of Hollywood stunt director Nick Powell, has been shooting for the action sequences for almost a week in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. She will be in the hospital under observation for the next few days. She might have to opt for cosmetic surgery once the shoot is over.
