‘Kabir Singh’ Looks Better Than ‘Arjun Reddy’: Prabhas

The Shahid Kapoor starrer is an official remake of the Telugu hit.

The teaser for the upcoming Shahid Kapoor film Kabir Singh which is a remake of the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy impressed Baahubali star Prabhas so much he called Shahid up to say that his film looks even better than the original.

Since the first teaser for Kabir Singh dropped last week, Shahid has received praise all around for his two different looks in the film and his portrayal of a brash, reckless doctor. But a call of congratulations from Prabhas surely counts as a highlight. Prabhas reached out to Shahid through celebrity hair stylist Aalim Hakim. Here’s what Aalim told DNA about the conversation.

“I was in Hyderabad shooting for <em><b>Saaho</b></em> with Prabhas, and the teaser of <em><b>Kabir Singh</b></em> had just launched online. Prabhas checked it out and loved it. Even his team members, who have enjoyed <b>Arjun Reddy</b>, felt that Shahid looked brilliant. Seeing Prabhas’ reaction to the promo, I called up Shahid and handed him the phone. The former praised him and said that <em><b>Kabir Singh</b></em> looks even better than the original. Both of them chatted for a good seven-odd minutes.”

Earlier, Vijay Devarakonda, who starred in Arjun Reddy, also sent his blessings to the Kabir Singh team. “Kabir Singh! Sending my love and best wishes to my men @imvangasandeep, @ShahidKapoor & the lady @Advani_Kiara” he wrote on Twitter.

Kabir Singh stars Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. The film is directed by Sandeep Vanga who also directed Arjun Reddy. Kabir Singh is set to release in theatres on 21 June.
