The trailer launch was also a walk down memory lane for the Dhawan family. Varun shared his memory of watching films with his family and cousins which helped strengthen family bonds. He added that Judwaa 2 was a family film targeted at kids.
My film is for twins, families and children specially. I remember going for movies with my maasis and cousins. I would buy a samosa and a beverage and watched the film which helped me make the best memories with my family. I want the children to make the same memories today. I want to make films for which a mom can take her children and watch it with them.

The film’s heroines were all praise for the director of the film. Jacqueline and Taapsee both admitted that David Dhawan was one of the strictest directors they’ve worked with but they also praised him for being a perfectionist at work.
Taapsee, who has always been known for her carefree attitude, didn’t shy away from singing the popular number Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Taara. Taapsee remembered the lyrics of the song by heart.

The Dhawans also thanked and praised Salman Khan who was the lead actor of the original Judwaa. They also thanked Sallu Bhai for his cameo appearance in Judwaa 2. David Dhawan also spilled the beans about Salman’s way of working.
Salman is a very seasoned actor. Now he is on a different level. When Salman gives a shot it looks like he is not interested, but later when you see it you will know that he is the one most interested in the shot. Khan saab is something else.

When David Dhawan was asked if he would ever change over to serious cinema, he said:
Chalti gaadi ka kabhi bonnet nai kholna chahiye.( One should never open the bonnet of a moving car.)

Varun also took time out to show off some groovy moves.

Jacqueline and Taapsee spilled some beans on the Dhawans too. According to the two actors, both father and son actually give each other a tough time at work. So much so that David Dhawan always gave Varun two takes to do a scene but the strict father in him expected Varun to give the best shot of his life each time.

Varun also revealed Sr Dhawan only likes energetic people. If people are not energetic he doesn’t want them on his sets.
For 60 days I just slept, worked out and shot for the movie. I had no fun in my life. When he woke up, he would make me work and when he slept he asked me to sleep. He likes bright people. If he doesn’t like a shot he will say it on your face. There is nothing to hide and he will say it in a way ki wo baat dil par lagti hai.
