On 3 December 2016, 25-year-old Kulwinder Kaur was shot dead while she was performing at a wedding in Bhatinda, Punjab. She was, reportedly, 2 months pregnant at the time of her death and was killed simply because she had refused to dance with a drunken man at a wedding. But, she was not the only one. Several stage performers are subjected to such atrocities that make them extremely vulnerable as artists.

On International Dance Day, Bollywood’s ace choreographers - Ashley Lobo, Remo D’Souza and Terence Lewis react to a video footage of Kulwinder’s killing and explain why they believe every performer or artist deserves respect. Watch the video to see their reactions and share their own battles whilst pursuing dance as a career.
