The theme was enough to stoke our curiosity. And now the trailer of Indu Sarkar, Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming film, looks more than promising. Set against the backdrop of the infamous 1975 emergency imposed during Indira Gandhi’s governance, the film revolves around a woman (played by Kirti Kulhari) who goes against husband and home to join protests against the political atrocities.
The most fascinating bits are of course the portrayal of Indira and Sanjay Gandhi, played by Supriya Vinod and Neil Nitin Mukesh respectively. Neil seems to have some of the best lines in the film and he has imbued his uncanny resemblance with Sanjay with a suave menace, which is simply delightful.

Kirti too seems to have put in another earnest performance after Pink as a timid-woman-with-a-speech-disability-turned-firecracker. Tota Roy Chowdhury and Anupam Kher also stand out.
After all, he has asked for NOC for films / documentaries based on Manmohan Singh and Arvind Kejriwal.
