The IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) announced its list of winners in the technical categories for 2019 on 4 September. Andhadhun led the way with four awards, which includes Best Screenplay (Sriram Raghavan, Arijit Biswas, Pooja Ladha Surti and Yogesh Chandekar), Best Editing (Pooja Ladha Surti), Best Sound Mixing (Ajay Kumar PB), Background Score (Daniel B George).
Tumbbad won two awards - Kunal Sharma for Sound Design and Filmgate Films AB in the Best Special Effects and Visuals category.
Padmaavat also won two awards. Sudeep Chatterjee bagged the Best Cinematography Award and Kruti Mahesh Midya and Jyothi Tommaar won for Best Choreography (Ghoomar).
Akshat Ghildial won the award for the Best Dialogue for Badhaai Ho.
Andhadhun has also received the maximum nominations in the popular categories at the 20th edition of IIFA. The Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu-starrer has been nominated for in 13 categories, including Best Picture, Best Direction and Best Performance in a Leading Role.
Alia Bhatt-starrer Raazi and Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s Padmaavat have received 10 nominations each, followed by Sanju with seven and Badhaai Ho with six.
The IFFA Awards 2019 will be held in Mumbai later this month.
