The trailer of Apoorva Lakhia’s Haseena Parkar looks as dark and turbulent as the real-life story of its protagonist Aapa, played by Shraddha Kapoor. The Half Girlfriend actress transforms from the privileged girl-next-door to a persona that held Mumbai’s Nagpada area ransom during her brother Dawood Ibrahim’s iron-clad rule over the city, but with much effort .
While it’ll take Sharaddha Kapoor some serious convincing to pull off Haseena Parkar’s character, given the rather forced deep baritone and unimpressive makeup. But her fans will surely be curious to see her transition into the dark side of Bollywood storytelling.
The film charts Haseena’s journey from being a young girl, to a mother of four, and finally to being the Godmother of Nagpada in the Maximum City.
Releasing on August 18, 2017, the film features Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor and Ankur Bhatia. Haseena Parkar is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Nahid Khan.
