The 63rd edition of Filmfare 2018 will take place on 20 January 2018 in Mumbai. The gala award night will bring the entire Bollywood film fraternity together to celebrate the best work of artists in Indian cinema. Here are the nominations for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female):

1. Meher Vij- Secret Superstar

Meher Vij, who was first seen playing a role of a mother in Bajrangi Baijaan was called the unsung hero of Secret Superstar. The ever smiling mom, helped the audience feel a connection by maintaining a balance between the role of a battered wife and a protective mother.

2. Ratna Pathak Shah- Lipstick Under My Burkha

Lipstick Under My Burkha is about four women who refuse to be told what to say and what to do. Ratna Pathak Shah who plays the role of Usha, a woman in her fifties who wants to learn to swim and explore her repressed desires.

3. Seema Pahwa- Bareilly Ki Barfi

In India, along with a bride and a groom, the parents also occupy the centre stage. Seema Pahwa as Sushila Mishra in Bareilly Ki Barfi plays the role of a stereotypical mother, who is worried about her daughter’s marriage. She definitely hits the right chords with her performance.

4. Seema Pahwa- Shubh Mangal Saavdhan

Seema Pahwa impresses audiences with her performance as a mother, always adding a touch of sense of humor in the roles that she plays.

5. Tillotama Shome – A Death In The Gunj

Shome plays the role of Bonnie, who’s on a family vacation which is marred by the spilling of secrets, illicit affairs and death.
