Fanney Khan, starring Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Rajkummar Rao, is off to a rather slow start at the box office. The Atul Manjrekar film collected only Rs 2.15 crore on the first day.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, it doesn’t bode too well for the film.

The film revolves around singer Fanney Khan (Anil Kapoor), whose dreams of becoming another Mohammed Rafi might have failed, but who is determined to make his talented daughter the next Lata Mangeshkar. Easier said than done as the said Lata is body-shamed and Fanney and his friend Rajkummar Rao kidnap a star singer Baby Singh (Aishwarya Rai) for money to fuel her starry dreams.
