Actor Shahid Kapoor, who bagged the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award (Best Actor) for his performance in Padmaavat, has dedicated the award to wife Mira Rajput.
Talking about the award he won on Saturday, Shahid said: "This is my first award for 'Padmaavat' this year, so I am really very happy and I would like to dedicate this award to my wife, Mira because she tolerated me for a year during this period and without her I wouldn't have been able to do this film. So I am very thankful to her."
Shahid is married to Mira Rajput and the couple is blessed with a beautiful daughter, Misha. Recently, the couple announced they are waiting for the arrival of their second child.

Fashion designer Sandeep Khosla’s niece Saudamini Mattu’s wedding was a star-studded affair. It was attended by many celebrities from B-town. And some even took to the dance floor to shake a leg. Aamir Khan has proven over and over again that he’s not just a superstar but also an accomplished actor, producer, filmmaker, TV show host and now we can also call him an activist. Aamir uses his stardom to raise issues that bothers him, the people and the government - his TV show, Satyamev Jayate, was an example of this.
An off-shoot of the Satyamev Jayate series is the Paani Foundation - which Aamir initiated as a movement to fight drought and eradicate water scarcity in rural Maharashtra.
The Paani Foundation trains people in the science of watershed management, and villagers then plan and execute various watershed management works in their village with help from the government and NGOs. We met up with Aamir Khan, who explains us how his this not-for-profit-company works and the actor also encourages people to join in.
