1. Shahid’s Mother Defends ‘Kabir Singh’, Compares It to ‘Godfather’

Despite receiving flak for its toxic misogyny and problematic portrayal of romantic relationships, the Shahid Kapoor-starrer has broken records at the box office. Even as social media is abuzz with netizens criticising the film, those belonging to the film fraternity have supported Kabir Singh. After Shahid’s brother Ishaan Khattar, now Shahid’s mother too has defended the on-screen persona.

In an interview with Midday, Shahid’s mother, Neelima Azeem, said that Kabir Singh is an “intelligent remake.” She defended Shahid’s decision to play the character by calling it a “meaty role.” She even compared Kabir Singh to Godfather and Dilip Kumar’s Amar.

2. Aditya Pancholi Extorted Over 1 Cr From Kangana, Alleges Rangoli

On Friday morning, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel posted a series of tweets alleging that Aditya Pancholi extorted more than 1 crore from Kangana. She also tweeted that a complaint against him was lodged in 2007 for “physical abuse harassment and extortion.”

According to Rangoli, Aditya Pancholi had extorted 1 crore from Kangana by saying that he had provided the actor with food and shelter for a duration of three months when Kangana was “homeless”.

3. Tamannaah Replaces Mouni Roy in Nawazuddin-Starrer ‘Bole Chudiyan’

After Mouni Roy was dropped from upcoming Nawazuddin-starrer Bole Chudiyan,the filmmakers have now got a new actor on board and it’s Tamannaah Bhatia. The announcement was made by Taran Adarsh on Twitter on Friday. The filming for Bole Chudiyan is expected to begin in Rajasthan very soon.

“Tamannaah Bhatia teams up with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in #BoleChudiyan... Nawazuddin’s brother Shamas Nawab Siddiqui directs the film... Produced by Rajesh and Kiran Bhatia... Start-to-finish shooting will commence in #Rajasthan shortly.”

The trailer of Abhinay Deo directorial Doosra just dropped and the two-minute long clip is an insight into the journey of India from the eyes of a little girl.

The trailer begins with a little girl in a small village in India. As she sits with her eyes glued to the television, watching India’s victory against its colonisers in the 2002 Natwest series, something within her brews.

5. Shah Rukh Khan Lends Power to ‘The Lion King’ Hindi Trailer

The first trailer of the Hindi dubbed version of Disney’s The Lion King is out, and Shah Rukh Khan lends tons of power to it with his voice. While Shah Rukh is the voice of Mufasa in the film, his son Aryan Khan is lending his voice to Simba.

In the first trailer of the Hindi version, we hear Shah Rukh giving lessons in being a good king to young Simba. We don’t get to hear Aryan’s voice in this one though.

Shah Rukh took to his twitter account to share the trailer and said, “Delighted to be a part of this global legacy. In Cinemas 19th July. Yaad Rakhna. #TheLionKing disneyfilmindia.”
