His upcoming film Padmavati is facing opposition from many quarters in the country, but actor Shahid Kapoor has urged the people to first watch the movie without harbouring any preconceived notions. Several outfits in Noida protested against the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed film yesterday and appealed to the masses not to watch the movie, due to release on December 1.
Addressing the issue, Shahid, who plays Maharawal Ratan Singh in the film, told the reporters last night, "I've been saying this since a long time. Watch the film and then decide. Give the film a chance and don't form preconceived notions. We have tried to keep everyone's feelings and interests in mind. We have tried to make the film as best as we could. We will respect whatever people think of the film but you should see it first."
The Fukrey boys are back - by the look of it, with double the dose of madness. The trailer of Fukrey Returns brings back the four beloved characters from the 2013 comedy helmed by Pulkit Samrat, Ali Fazal, Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh. And there’s of course Richa Chadha as Bholi Punjaban (we can’t wait to find out more about her nagina stint of which we get a miss-if-you-blink hint in the trailer).
There’s a wild touch to the boys this time with Choocha (Varun Sharma) getting bitten by a snake and acquiring the power to look into the future. Huge sums of money are bandied about along with witty one-liners even as the boys bicker, snicker, chase and flee their way through - complete with a roaring tiger behind them.
Parineeti Chopra is going for an all-out corporate role for her next. How do we know? Well, the Golmaal Again actor shared her look from her upcoming film Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. Stylish in a formal suit, glasses and a serious expression to boot, Pari seems all set to win the innings to the top with this one.
The Dibakar Banerjee film would see her pair up with Arjun Kapoor again after their debut film Ishaqzaade.
Crossing 100 million views, singer Atif Aslam’s rendition of popular qawwali Tajdar-e-Haram has broken all previous records held by YouTube videos from Pakistan. The song was performed by Atif - the original composition is by the Sabri Brothers - and produced by Strings on Coke Studio Season 8.
The popular 90s pair is coming together to the silver screen after their last appearance as an onscreen couple in the film, Pukaar (2000), much to the delight of their fans. The project - a comedy, titled, Total Dhamaal directed by Indra Kumar will go on the floors in January next year, as confirmed by Kumar himself. The project also has Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh and Arshad Warsi on board.
It was Indra Kumar’s blockbuster film, Beta that won Kapoor and Dixit Best Actor/Actress Filmfare Awards in 1992. Kumar is quick to shatter hopes of reviving the superhit song, ‘Dhak Dhak Karne Laga’, "This film is essentially a comedy so don't expect any 'Dhak Dhak', but I promise total dhamaal. Anil and Madhuri have always been a great pair to work with and getting them together again is a dream."
