1. Court Rejects Saif Ali Khan’s Appeal in 2012 Hotel Brawl Case

A sessions court in Mumbai rejected Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s appeal against a lower court’s order to add to the charges in a 2012 hotel brawl case he is involved in.

A metropolitan magistrate’s court had allowed the Mumbai Police’s plea for an additional section against the Sacred Games star in 2017. Saif had filed his appeal soon after. He faces a court trial along with two friends for allegedly assaulting NRI Iqbal Sharma. The magistrate court had brought charges aganst Saif under sections 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code in 2013.

2. Deora Slams MLA Comment on Drugged BTown Celebs at KJo Party

Recently, filmmaker and producer Karan Johar hosted a small gathering at his house and naturally, all the known faces of BTown were present. Karan Johar even shared a behind-the-scenes video of the party, with the caption “Saturday night vibes.” Now, MLA Manjinder S Sirsa has taken to social media to comment that the actors in the video are allegedly drugged.

Manjinder Sirsa wrote on Twitter, “ #UDTABollywood - Fiction Vs Reality Watch how the high and mighty of Bollywood proudly flaunt their drugged state!! 3. Man Threatens ‘Arjun Patiala’ Makers Over Sunny Leone’s Number

Delhi resident Puneet Agarwal has filed a police complaint after receiving several lewd phone calls from strangers asking for Sunny Leone, reports India Today. He happens to share the same number that Sunny Leone gives to Diljit Dosanjh’s character in Arjun Patiala, which released on 26 July.

According to the report, Agarwal claims he has been receiving 100-150 calls every day with people saying obscene things, asking him for video calls and abusing him. He says he has filed a police complaint though action is yet to be taken.

4. ‘The Lion King’ Becomes 4th Disney Film to Cross $1 Bn Globally

Jon Favreau’s remake of the beloved 1994 classic The Lion King has become the fourth Disney film to earn over one billion dollars at the global box office this year. The other Disney productions to have crossed billion dollars in ticket sales across the world in 2019 are Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel and the live-action remake of Aladdin. Variety reports that the film has earned $361 million at the domestic box office and $638 overseas. Internationally, its performance has been strong especially in China with $115 million, the United Kingdom with $48 million and Brazil with $44 million.

5. Karisma Kapoor’s Cousin Armaan Jain Gets Engaged, See Pics

Actor Armaan Jain, who was last seen on the big screen in the 2014 romantic comedy Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, got engaged to girlfriend Anissa Malhotra on Tuesday 30 July. Armaan’s cousins Karisma Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor shared pictures from the picture-perfect ceremony.

In the pictures, Armaan is seen getting down on knee to propose to Anissa in front of a beautiful arch of flowers. Karisma posed with the happy couple and wrote, “Congratulations to my favourite cuties” on one of her Instagram stories.
