Salman Khan shared a heartfelt message for late actor Vinod Khanna from the sets of Dabangg 3 on the veteran’s birthday on Sunday 6 October. Salman and his crew were celebrating the wrap of shooting on the upcoming sequel and remarked on the happy coincidence of the film’s packup taking place on Vinod’s birthday. Vinod starred in the first two Dabangg films and played the part of Salman’s character Chulbul Pandey’s father Prajapati Pandey.

2. IFFI to Honour Amitabh Bachchan in Its 50th Edition

The 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has just unveiled its lineup. The fest will be held from 20 to 28 November in Goa and will feature around 250 films from 76 countries.

A selection of Amitabh Bachchan's films will also be showcased, as the megastar was recently announced to receive a Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar had this to say while announcing the 2019 edition of the annual film gala.

3. Bhumi, Tannishtha Win Big at Busan International Film Festival

Saand Ki Aankh star Bhumi Pednekar has been honoured with the Face of Asia award the 24th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

Bhumi's upcoming film Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare, which also features Konkona Sen Sharma, had its world premiere at BIFF on Friday 4 October. The film is written and directed by Alankrita Shrivastava of Lipstick Under My Burkha fame and produced by Ekta Kapoor.

Meanwhile, Tannishtha Chatterjee received the Asia Star Award for her directorial debut Roam Rome Mein at the festival.

4. Sushant’s ‘Chhichhore’ Hits Rs 150 Cr at the Box Office in a Month

Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor’s campus comedy Chhichhore has crossed another benchmark having earned Rs 150.36 crore at the box office in its fifth week. In a year when big ticket movies such as Kalank and Student of the Year failed to make their mark, the film has proven to be “one of the biggest success stories of 2019” says trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
