Actor Swara Bhasker, who came to attend a special screening of Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut’s Judgementall Hai Kya on Wednesday night, voiced her support for the open letter written to PM Narendra Modi by 49 eminent personalities including actors and filmmakers at the event. The open letter to the PM, which was released to the media on Wednesday, condemned the rising mob lynching incidents against Dalits and Muslims in the country.

The makers of Mission Mangal have released the first track from the film. Titled ‘Dil Mein Mars Hai’, the catchy number has been performed by Benny Dayal and Vibha Saraf and composed by Amit Trivedi with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The video for the song features its leads Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Akshay Kumar and Sharman Joshi as scientists preparing to launch their first mission to Mars.

Expressing concern at the number of “religious identity-based hate crimes” in India, a group of eminent citizens has said in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that ‘Jai Shri Ram’ has become a provocative war cry with many lynchings taking place in its name. The letter is signed by 49 celebrities from various fields, including filmmakers Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Anurag Kashyap, Aparna Sen among others.
Anurag Kashyap has finally spoken about his views and the letter in an interview with a Hindi news portal Lallan Top.

Jon Favreau’s live action remake The Lion King uses vivid CGI renderings to bring to life the beloved animated characters of the 1994 Disney classic. From Mufasa and Simba to Zazu, Timon and Pumba, the animals of Pride Rock have been captured in stunning, photorealistic detail.
The Dallas Zoo in Texas recently revealed that the CGI version of Simba in the film was inspired by one of its residents – Behati the lion cub. When she was a month old, the zoo shared videos of her with Disney to use as references for the movement and behaviour of Simba.

Filmmakers Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap had collaborated last year for Lust Stories, a collection of four short films. Now, they are all set to unite again for a similar project, but from the horror genre titled Ghost Stories. Now, news is that Janhvi Kapoor has been finalised as the lead for Zoya Akhtar’s film, Pinkvilla reported. “Zoya has the script ready and she will start shooting soon. Ghost Stories is her first tryst with the horror genre and hers is a quirky take. Janhvi will essay the role of the protagonist”, a source told Pinkvilla.
