It’s finally confirmed! Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai and Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb will clash at the box office on Eid 2020.
It all started with Salman’s now-shelved project with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt Inshallah being scheduled for Eid 2020 when Akshay’s Sooryavanshi had already staked that position. Salman reached out to Sooryavanshi director Rohit Shetty and Rohit decided to prepone his movie to 27 March 2020.
Later, when Inshallah was canned, Akshay moved his other 2020 release Laxmmi Bomb to the Eid 2020 date to make use of the valuable empty slot. However, Salman has kept a tradition of release films on Eid for over 10 years and was confident to make something happen instead of Inshallah.
Lo and behold, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai with director Prabhudeva was announced for Eid 2020. This led everyone to wonder whether Akshay would budge once again and move Laxxmi Bomb. Now producers Fox Star India have confirmed that Laxmmi Bomb will indeed release on Eid, classing with Radhe.
“EID 2020 ko, saare desh mein machega shor, jab fatega #LaxmmiBomb aapke nazdeeki cinema gharon mein,” the studio wrote on Twitter with a still from the movie where Akshay plays a transgender woman.
So, there you have it. Audiences have two huge reasons to get excited for Eid 2020.
Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai also stars Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff and Randeep Hooda while Laxmmi Bomb also stars Kiara Advani and is directed by Raghava Lawrence.
