This Friday 6 September saw the release of the ensemble comedy-drama Chhichhore starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Shradda Kapoor. The first audience reviews for the film are out and the public has given Chhichhore a thumbs up for its relatable story of love and friendship.

Audiences praised the film for the performances of the leads Sushant and Shradda but also the rest of the cast which includes Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty and Prateik Babbar. People appreciated the honest story of a group of friends in college who later in life drift apart and appreciate the film’s message of living life on your own terms. While the film was being compared to Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots before release, most agreed that Chhichhore was its own beast.

When it comes to critics, Chhichhore received mixed reviews. Here’s what film critic Rajeev Masand had to say about the film.

“Such is the tone and treatment of Chhichhore that it will trigger a flood of memories for anyone who has lived on campus. For those who haven’t, it evokes an unmistakable feeling of having missed out on a life-shaping experience. But frankly anyone who has been to college will have no trouble recognising friends, acquaintances or even oneself among the film’s canvas of characters.”
Rajeev Masand, News 18

Chhichhore is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, who earlier made the Aamir Khan blockbuster Dangal.
