Karan Johar is back with another webisode of Calling Karan to talk about issues related to “family interference” with his listeners.
Karan begins the episode by addressing how his rishtedaar continually flood his Whatsapp with messages, videos and forwards. (Even Silicon Valley has been complaining about the internet being filled up with Good Morning messages by Indians).
His first caller, though, has another interference from her future in-laws who have a problem with her profession as a hair-dresser, and her boyfriend tells her to ignore them.
Calling a spade a space, KJo gives her a ready response: “Tell your boyfriend that I respect the fact that you have a family and they’re great, but when they disrespect my profession, they disrespect me. No one deserves it.”
The surprise caller of the week is Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai who comes with a real millennial problem, to live-in or get married. KJo, though, thinks she should wait it out.
Another caller wants to distance himself from his family (Whatsapp groups come up in the conversation once again) but is unable to. Karan describes his family as conservative, nosy and needed to be put on mute (uh, that’s not very helpful since you get a barrage of messages anyway). Second, ignore. And besides that, it’s family. So we have to deal with them.
Talking about Bollywood’s loving mother-in-law, he said it would be Jaya Bachchan and Deepika Padukone would be the ideal daughter-in-law.
