Tahira Kashyap, who has been married to actor Ayushmann Khurrana for over eight years, is all set to make her first feature film as a director. Tahira had earlier made the short film Toffee, which screened at Mumbai Film Festival among others.
Apart from film, Tahira has worked as author, teacher, theatre director and radio programmer. Her debut is said to be a “warm, slice-of-life drama” set in Mumbai. The film is currently casting and will shoot next year. When asked if she will be casting Mr Kashyap, Tahira had this to say to Mumbai Mirror.
The film will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Tanuj Garg and Atul Kasbekar. Atul has recently produced films like Neerja and Tumhari Sulu. Tahira expressed pleasure in working with these partners and shared that she had been working on screenplays for five years.
Tahira and Ayushmann have two children together. He will next be seen in Sriram Raghavan’s Andhadhun alongside Tabu and Radhika Apte.
