Arjun Kapoor Begins Shooting for Period Drama ‘Panipat’
The film also stars Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt.

Ashutosh Gowariker’s period drama Panipat has gone on floors. Arjun Kapoor, who plays a lead role in the film confirmed the news on social media.
The film tells the tale of the historic Third Battle of Panipat, which was fought between the Marathas and Afghan ruler Ahmad Shah Abdali’s invading army. Arjun Kapoor will reportedly be playing the role of Sadashiv Rao Bhau who served as the commander of the Maratha army during the battle. The film will also star Kriti Sanon and see Sanjay Dutt in the role of Ahmad Shah Abdali; Mohnish Bahl as Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao; and Kunal Kapoor as Shujaud-Daula, the Subedar Nawab of Oudh.
Kriti Sanon also took to social media announcing, "Our Panipat journey begins today. Super excited for this new chapter... going to join you guys in two days. Let's do this! Panipat shoot begins today."
The film is scheduled to release in December 2019.
