Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rowdy Rathore’ to Have a Sequel

Akshay Kumar and Prabhudeva had teamed up in 2012 for the action-comedy Rowdy Rathore. The film did well in the box office. Now, the makers are ready for a sequel after almost seven years, Mumbai Mirror reported. Shabinaa Khan, who had co-produced the film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, confirmed the news.

“We are currently writing the script of Rowdy Rathore 2, and it will feature Akshay Kumar in the lead role”, said Shabinaa.

She admitted that Akshay Kumar may have been choosing scripts that are different from his filmography, but his films have a lot of humour. “From Toilet: Ek Prem Katha to Padman, Akshay can manage anything and is one of the all-rounders in our industry”, Shabinaa told Mumbai Mirror.

The film is expected to go on the floors sometime next year.

As of now, Akshay Kumar is busy shooting for Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Sooryavanshi. Akshay recently posted a photo of himself hanging from a helicopter while Shetty rides alongside him on a bike.

“Casually hanging, off a helicopter...just another day on the sets of #Sooryavanshi” he tweeted cautioning fans not to try the stunt on their own.
