As we gear up for Akshay Kumar’s upcoming release Mission Mangal, it seems that there’s already another thrilling project in the pipeline. Akshay’s next film will be based on the life of Ajit Doval, India’s fifth and current National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India. Akshay Kumar will be reuniting with director Neeraj Pandey for that.

Neeraj is currently focusing on filming ‘Chanakya’ with Ajay Devgn.

Neeraj Pandey has previously directed several Akshay Kumar-starrers like Special 26, Baby and Rustom. Akshay and Neeraj joining hands marks a significant development in their professional relationship. The duo had reportedly had a fall out after Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary was up against Akshay’s Padman in 2018 until the film’s release had to be delayed. This conflict had resulted in Akshay Kumar’s film Crack being called off.

Research and scripting of this Ajit Doval-based story is still in the works and not as urgent as Neeraj Pandey and Akshay Kumar’s other projects. Neeraj is currently focusing on filming Chanakya with Ajay Devgn. Akshay too has other projects he is working on. An official announcement is expected once the script is locked.

‘Mission Mangal’ has been directed by Jagan Shakti.

Akshay Kumar will be seen in the upcoming film Mission Mangal, which releases on 15 August. Mission Mangal is inspired by the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Mars Orbiter Mission, aka Mangalyaan, which was launched in 2013 making India the first Asian nation to reach Mars’ orbit and the first in the world to do it in it inaugural try. The film has been directed by Jagan Shakti and stars an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Kulhari and Nithya Menen.
