Akshay Kumar is all set to begin shooting of Lakshmi, the Hindi remake of the hit Tamil horror comedy Muni 2: Kanchana, on Monday, but it will be very different from its original.
According to reports, the actor will not play a man who is easily scared of ghosts like in its original. In fact, he will play a brave man. Plus, he won't be possessed by three ghosts, like in Muni 2: Kanchana, but just one - that of a transgender named Lakshmi.
Also, Kiara Advani, who stars alongside Akshay, will get a meatier role than the original.
Writer Farhad Samji has worked on the script for the Hindi remake.
A Mid Day reports said, “While the premise remains the same, Akshay’s character has been chalked out as one who doesn’t fear the supernatural.”
The sequence where Akshay gets possessed will be shot at Kiara’s character’s home and she will also play a crucial role in his exorcism.
The film is being directed by Raghava Lawrence, who helmed all the three parts of the successful Kanchana franchise, and also acted as the lead in all of them.
