The news was also confirmed by Taran Adarsh who tweeted, “The clash is CONFIRMED... Aamir [#LaalSinghChaddha] vs Akshay [#BachchanPandey]... #Christmas 2020.”
Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha was announced by the actor on his birthday in March. It is an adaptation of American classic film Forrest Gump. Laal Singh Chaddha also stars Kareena Kapoor and is scheduled to release on Christmas 2020. The plot of the film will reportedly be based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Earlier, there were speculations that the film would be inspired from the Babri Masjid demolition. However, a source close to development has rubbished the claim.
Laal Singh Chaddha will be directed by Advait Chandan and written by Atul Kulkarni.
Meanwhile, Akshay is already preparing for his upcoming release Mission Mangal. Mission Mangal is loosely based on the space mission Chandrayaan and stars Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, and Sharman Joshi, among others. It will release on 15 August.
The makers of Mission Mangal recently released the first track from the film. Titled ‘Dil Mein Mars Hai’, the catchy number has been performed by Benny Dayal and Vibha Saraf and composed by Amit Trivedi with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The video for the song features its leads Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Akshay Kumar and Sharman Joshi as scientists preparing to launch their first mission to Mars.
