Bollywood celebrates Shakespeare with Aamir Khan and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ actor Ian McKellen

Aamir Khan and other Bollywood bigwigs came together to welcome The Lord of the Rings star Ian McKellen in Mumbai. Sir Ian is visiting as part of Shakespeare Lives on Film, a global initiative to celebrate the Bard’s works and his influence on culture and society. The event coincides with his 400th death anniversary. While Aamir and wife Kiran Rao had the special privilege to dine with the iconic British actor, other B’town celebs participated in the session conducted by Aamir with Sir Ian.

With no other writer having such a great impact on cinema, Aamir Khan’s session with Ian McKellen at Mumbai’s NCPA explored how filmmakers have adapted, been inspired by, and interpreted Shakespeare’s work for the big screen.
