Bob Dylan First Ever to Win Grammy, Oscar and the Nobel Prize

Dylan has a total of 43 Grammy nominations of which he has won 12 of them, including Lifetime Achievement.

American singer and songwriter Bob Dylan is now a Nobel Laureate. On Thursday afternoon, the Nobel Foundation announced that Dylan has won the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature.

This new achievement has ensured that Dylan is the only person to have won three of the most prestigious awards – Grammy awards, an Oscar and a Nobel Prize.

Bob Dylan has won the Nobel Prize for Literature "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition," the Swedish Academy said on Thursday in awarding the 8 million Swedish crown ($927,740) prize.

43 Grammy Nominations, 12 Wins

Starting from as early 1973, when Dylan won his first Grammy, Dylan went ahead to win 12 Grammies, along with 43 nominations.

Oscar for Original Song (2001)

Dylan won the Oscar for Original Song in 2001 for the movie Wonder Boys starring Robert Downey Jr and Katie Holmes.
