A Hyderabad-based journalist who received a nomination to feature in Bigg Boss Telugu has accused the organisers of the show of seeking sexual favours. The journalist said that these favours were asked in exchange of being allowed into the final rounds of the show.
The Telugu version of the famous reality will begin its third season soon.
Assistant Commissioner (ACP) of Hyderabad Police’s Banjara Hills Division, KS Rao, told news agency ANI that a case has been registered against four members of the reality show under section 35A of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with outraging the modesty of a woman.
The ACP further said that a complaint was received on 13 July from the senior journalist who got a call in March stating that she had been selected for the reality show which begins on 21 July.
The accused have been identified as Abhishek, Ravikanth, Raghu and Shyam.
The victim has also alleged that the organisers body-shamed her during the meeting.
The first season of Bigg Boss Telugu aired in July 2017 and was hosted by Jr NTR, while the second season was hosted by Nani. The third season is being hosted Akkineni Nagarjuna.
