This?

Maybe it’s time to broaden (pun intended) your thoughts. One’s mindset created by society & media has always focused on one body type for models - ‘thin & slim’. But here are few supermodels who have changed the perception of the stereotype that strides down the catwalk.

Ashley Graham

#IAmSizeSexy

Recently few plus size models led by Ashley Graham got together and created ALDA. ALDA is a coalition of models - a group of women aiming to represent beauty overall – without divisions, boundaries and most of all – in ALL sizes. ALDA means ‘wave’ in Icelandic and that’s exactly what they are creating. Ashley Graham is a plus size supermodel who has managed to change the way we look at those curves.

Tara Lynn #BigIsBeautiful

Tara Lynn is another plus size model who has been on the covers of the most popular magazines in the world. She has always encouraged women of all sizes to embrace their natural shape. She is confident about her voluptuous body but it wasn’t until college that she grew to accept herself.

Candice Huffine #ChallengingTheNorm

Other than being size 12, supermodel Candice Huffine is paired with her extreme confidence and garrulousness. And she is here to challenge the norm.

Tess Holliday #EffYourBeautyStandards

Meet Tess Holliday, a size 22 model and the first woman of her size to be hired by a major modeling agency. Her real name is Tess Munster. Munster has alleged that she was bullied for her weight and pale skin as a youngster. She is the brain behind the #effyourbeautystandards campaign which encourages a positive body image for men and women of all sizes.
