Angry Indian Goddesses Face Heavy Chopping off by Censor Board

The Angry Indian Goddesses are now furious and Pahlaj Nihalani is the man to blame. Being touted as India’s first female ‘buddy film’, Pan Nalin’s film has received applause and accolades abroad, but back home, it’s a different story. The censor board’s Examining Committee has ordered drastic cuts in the film, that supposedly censor ‘profane references to Hindu goddesses’.

Tannishtha Chatterjee’s character has taken the most severe beating as per the actresses’s statement published in a DNA report. Chatterjee said that while the film has earned her a lot of praise abroad, in the current version of it, her part has been chopped down to almost nothing.

Unfortunately the film releases nationwide in two weeks and the actress is not expecting the CBFC to budge in time. The film is now with the Revising Committee for the final decision.
