A drug addict, wild child, 2 broken marriages and then being labelled a husband snatcher who broke Jennifer Aniston’s fairytale marriage with Brad Pitt. Angelina Jolie has seen the worst and is even now battling separation from Pitt. But she is even now a dedicated mother to six children. Today as the diva turns 44, we take you through Angelina’s life in pictures.

She was only sixteen when Angelina Jolie posed for this photo-shoot with Sean McCall. Yes, her life of glamour started off really early, but this was also the start of a phase through which she was wracked with emotional disturbance as well.

She was just 20 when she went into depression and became dependent on drugs. She later admitted about trying “every drug possible” from ecstasy to heroin in those years.

She got her her first major big break in films in 1995 with a role in Hackers along side British actor Jonny Lee Miller. Soon they fell in love and got married a year later. For the wedding, Angelina was reportedly dressed in black rubber hot pants and a white T-shirt smeared with her groom’s name written in blood! The couple split after three years. After that Angelina was linked to few girls and she even confirmed she was a bi-sexual.

By the time Tomb Raider (2001) released, Angie had already won an Oscar for Girl, Interrupted (1999). And with Lara Croft: Tomb Raider two years later, the actress was on top of her game.

Her second marriage was to Billy Bob Thornton. The couple had a 20 year age difference but no one really cared. They too split after three years of marriage.

Angelia admitted that she never had a good relationship with her father. Her dad, Jon Voight also an actor, was her co-star in Tomb Raider. In 2002 her father claimed that she had ‘serious mental problems , which was the last straw for Angelina. He was not even invited for Angelia and Brad’s wedding.

On the other hand Angelina was very fond of her mother. Marcheline Betrand was an actress, producer and a humanitarian. She passed away in 2007 after a long battle with cancer. As she walked down the aisle to marry Brad Pitt, Angelina carried her beloved mother close to her heart. She wore a locket with a picture of her mom.

And when she finally found true love she was called a home breaker and husband snatcher. Angelina was already a mother of two Maddox and Pax when Brad came to her life. And the brand ‘Brangelina’ was born

Her reputation slowly recovered as she put a lot of work into her role as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been together since 2006 and after raising 6 children together they finally tied the knot in 2014.

And last but not the least, Jolie had a family history of cancer which suggested that she had a 50-50 chance of developing ovarian cancer. In March this year, Jolie underwent a surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes, a process that forces her into a forced menopause. The actress also wrote about it in an op-ed for The New York Times.
