After playing a disgruntled boxing coach in Saala Khadoos, R Madhavan is all set to play the role of a dreaded encounter specialist Vikram in his next film. Titled Vikram-Veda, the film will delve deep into the world of encounter cops behind the non-stop criminal shenanigans of Veda, a gangster to be played by Vijay Sethupathi.

The film will be produced by Sashikanth of YNOT Studios.

Sashikanth and Maddy share a great rapport. It was Sashi, who first green-lit the script of Sudha Kongara’s <i>Irudhi Suttru,</i> which eventually made Maddy to bring Rajkumar Hirani on board to make it as a bi-lingual sports drama in Tamil and Hindi. The team is looking forward to repeating the same magic again with <i>Vikram-Veda.</i>
According to industry sources

Sashikanth is currently looking for prospective producers in Bollywood to collaborate with on this project, to shoot simultaneously in Tamil and Hindi.

The film will be on the lines of Steven Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can with a good dose of quirky comedy.

To be helmed by director duo Pushkar and Gayathri, best known for their radically offbeat subjects like Oram Po and Va Quarter Cutting, the script work for Vikram-Veda has been completed. The team will make an official announcement in April and the shooting will kickstart in the same month.
