After receiving repeated threats from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leaders, the producers of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios have, reportedly, decided to seek police protection.

The producers met the police commissioner today (18 October) given the mounting threats of “hooliganism and vandalism”.

They issued a statement on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Mumbai Police, Ashok Dudhe who said,

We, Mumbai Police, will provide adequate protection to cinema theatres as and when required.
Statement by Fox

Leaders from the party had previously threatened Pakistani artistes to leave the country, failing which it pledged to teach them a lesson in ‘MNS style’.

We (MNS) will beat up anyone who works with Pakistani artistes.
Amey Khopkar, MNS Leader
