That was possible only because of the 800 policemen that were on duty to control the crowd and ensure Mr Bachchan’s safety. Ha! We got you! The truth is, only 100 of them were real cops, the rest were extras!

Deepika Padukone always knew how to drive but admits to being under-confident behind the wheel. But ever since Shoojit Sircar put her in the driver’s seat during the shoot and that too on the highway, she’s been whizzing around the streets of Mumbai on her own!

3. Shoojit Sircar’s Daughter features in the Film

Yes. Thats right! Shoojit Sircar’s 9 year old daughter Anannya plays a blink and miss role in the film. Remember the scene with Mr Bachchan cycling around? He suddenly stops in the middle of a galli to look inside a window where a little girl is singing and playing the harmonium. That’s Anannya!

4. Deepika Was Also the Clapper Girl

Lead actress and clapper girl- Deepika was great as both! So when Sircar’s assistant director fell ill, Deepika jumped in to help. She always wanted to assist a filmmaker and Shoojit was only too happy to have her help out. 

5. Deepika Checked Out Satyajit Ray’s House

Deepika Padukone spent a whole month in Kolkata during the making of the film. She made quick trips to the city’s iconic places including Satyajit Ray’s house, which happened to be very close where the film’s crew was filming. Though she couldn’t go inside, she happily clicked pictures from outside and went back to wrap up her scene.
